BIO

Born in Spain, Elena began learning the violin at age seven with Ara Vartanian. From a very young age she collaborated and performed as a soloist with various orchestras in Spain, such as the Soloists of Malaga Chamber Orchestra and performed violin concertos by J. S. Bach, Vivaldi, Accolay, Komarovsky among many.


She has performed on several occasions in major venues in the UK including the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Royal Albert Hall, Barbican Hall, Wigmore Hall, Cadogan Hall, St. Martin in the Fields, St. John’s Smith Square and St James Picadilly among others. She has also performed as a soloist with orchestras such as the Torbay Symphony Orchestra, Harrow Symphony Orchestra, Wimbledon Symphony Orchestra and the Promusica Orchestra.


Elena was the winner of the Gold Medal as well as the Audience prize at the Trinity Laban Gold Medal Showcase 2019. She has also been awarded first and second prizes in competitions such as the Vera Kantrovitch Solo Strings Competition, Leonard Smith and Felicity Young Competition, V Muñoz Molleda Andalusian Competition, XII Ángeles Reina Music
Competition to name a few. She was also a finalist at the Yamaha European Foundation Competition and the Violines por la Paz International Competition. She was awarded the Trinity Laban Director’s Prize for Excellence in Strings and the John Thompson String Ensemble Prize.


As a chamber musician, she was selected in various occasions for recitals at the Wigmore Hall, where she performed such pieces as the Tchaikovskys’ Trio in A minor op. 50, Arenskys’ Piano Quintet op. 51 and Bottesini’s Gran Duo Concertante for violin and double bass. She was also awarded first prize at the Leonard Smith and Felicity Young Duo competition. She is also the founder of the Dréme Quartet, which won second prize at the Cavatina Intercollegiate Competition 2018.


Elena is also a very enthusiastic orchestral player, and she has worked on projects involving several renowned orchestras including the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the London Symphony Orchestra and the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. She has also been leader of the London City Orchestra, Trinity Laban Symphony Orchestra, Trinity Laban String Ensemble and the Audeat Camerata. She is a member of the Parallax Orchestra, which has performed with various pop and rock artists such as Eminem, Clean Bandit, Bring Me The Horizon, Architects and Alter Bridge.


Elena moved to London in 2007 to study with Evgeny Grach at the Purcell School of Music. She finished her Bachelor’s degree in 2015 at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and she finished her Masters degree at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance studying with professor Ofer Falk as a Violet Wright, Beatrice Taylor and Helen Roll Trust Scholar.
